Hell yes, another Packers transaction for us to discuss with the confidence of men who just googled the player. Welcome to Wisconsin, Elijah Culp. Your film session now includes several thousand unpaid evaluators with string cheese on their shirts.
Here is what I actually like: Green Bay is still looking for options. A practice squad should be a workshop, not a storage unit full of stuff nobody wants to throw away. Bring players in, see what translates, and keep searching. Boring? Sure. So is checking the furnace, right up until January reminds you why the hell you bothered. My bar for this move is pretty simple. Can Culp learn the responsibilities, compete in practice, and make himself useful enough to earn another day? That is the assignment. I am not calling him the answer at corner because I discovered his name between a work email and reheating leftovers. Let the guy unpack before somebody starts drawing up a commemorative T-shirt. There is a difference between liking a depth move and pretending it fixes an entire defense. Football gets expensive when fans start spending imaginary production before a player has taken a meaningful snap. Every new guy becomes a hidden gem. Every departed guy becomes evidence of a grand plan. Sometimes the explanation is just that the staff wants a different look. That is allowed to be the whole damn explanation. What I want next is useful information: does he stick, does an opportunity develop, and what do we learn if it does? Those are better questions than whether a Tuesday practice-squad announcement means we should book February travel. The optimism can stay. The flight reservation can wait. And yes, I will still be watching the next defensive series like my living room has been promoted to the coaching booth. That is the deal with this team. We demand sensible roster management while personally managing our emotions like a shopping cart with three wheels. Go Pack Go. Somebody hide my trade calculator.
